Upgrade Issues
 

Hi,

was running 3.1. and just purchased my renewal and upgraded. went through the upgrade process and when i was done, my images are all gone and also links are all gone.

logged into the admin (there was no visible link on the reviewpost but i had photopost installed os i was able to find the admin link). logged in and it says my current version is 5.21. but the left nav there are no links. the boxes are there but contain nothing.

You did not run the upgrade 3.1 script from what I am seeing. Also your data directory is not 777 at every level so you need to fix that and then run the required upgrades.

got the text to show up. had to upgrade the language in the upgrade.php file.

in the admin it says current version is 5.21 but in the announcement box it's telling me 4.12 is available.

you said i didnt' run the 3.1 upgrade script. upon clicking it, i got a bunch of mysql errors and this message at the bottom:

Move DATA directory files (you only do this only once successfully) --> or quit here.
Moving data files can take some time depending on your installation; 10,000 files could take 5 minutes or more. Please be patient.

i did not continue on. still also can't get images to show up.

yes you did not run your upgrade which is what I am saying your stopping for some reason.

You are running all except the 3.1 upgrade for some reason. You are stopping for some reason after step 1 there are 3 steps.

Now you do not want to run the steps to move the files and rename them until you set your data directory permissions recursively to 777 like I said. I also show you have not done this yet either.

so this is what i am going to do..

1. all the folders in DATA and subfolders (there is alot) change them all to 777
2. run the 3.1 upgrade again.

just for the record..this is the error i got when i ran the 3.1 upgrade.

You will get duplicate errors on step 1 sure since you ran that.

You want to do what you posted yes but you need to run through that upgrade. You have not ran step 2 or step 3 yet. You need to click the step 2 link to move files etc.

thanks chuck. did as told. it seems to work. my images show up and etc.

in the admin it says my current version is 5.21 - but in the announcement box it keeps on telling me that ReviewPost 4.12 Now Available!. so just disregard or did i still not completely 100% of the upgrade. my admin is still in the blue color template. just wondering as my photopost admin is now black template. unless that is changeable somewhere.

The news announcement I will pass along as that was updated I thought

Anyway the reviewpost admin has always used its own style.

The only vb style we show is on the front end.
