Well there is no search box on the sidebar so not sure what your referring to in your reply.

Main Index - NF-F Produktdatenbank

If this is the site there is nothing to search but not seeing any errors trying to do a search from the search box.

No, Chuck, i know that tere is no search box on the left side. Please do the advanced search function in the navigation bar of ReviewPost to show the error up on the left side under the calendar.

The attachement shows only the error that causes from the ReviewPost search function.

Thanks!

Greetings

Klaus

Try uploading products to your install and testing. I am seeing no such errors on my test site then again I have products.

The issue with that error is because if the random products block.

Chuck, i tried to, but the issue is still there when the calendar is enabled in the left sidebar; just only when enabled and enabled in the left sidebar.

When i disable the calendar, the error message - as described - is gone.

And we did 20 new and fresh installs in the last 24 hours with the same results.

Sorry, but this version of reviewpost, i must say that clearly, is not usable for a website that is in a productive manner and used to earn money for us.

There are a few more issues:

1. You choose all pathes when beginning a fresh install and have to correct them after in the admin cp

2. You choose GD2 in the installation process and have to correct that in the admin cp from imagekick again to GD2 library

3. The image path is never set correctly, so you get this missing image in the search dropdown

4. It would be helpful if the installer gets the advice to make the data- and upload directory writeable in between the installation process, not after continuing this installation process

5. It would also be helpful to get some instructions what directories must have the trailing slash and what directories musst not have the trailing slash

I like ReviewPost as a very good solution or vbulletin, but sorry again, this last version is horrible to install and to use with all these bugs!

Greetings and a nice weekend with a healty and good New Year 2012!

Klaus

The problem here is I can not replicate your issue in any manner on any other reviewpost site I know of.

Look at my site.

Main Index - Reeftalk Reviews. I would gladly help if I could replicate things to know how your getting this error. Any modifications to your code? You can disable the randompal on search if you wish by making the line for if clause for random pal this in the sidebar_leftopen template

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Lets go through your questions

1. There is no need to correct anything if you enter the correct settings on install. We can make path suggestions on install but it would be up to you to verify paths statements on the install part.

2. I will test that.

3. I would suspect again some installation mistake on end user install process as if you specify all the correct urls and paths you should be okay. I do installs of all our applications all the time. Number one issues on support are install mistakes.

4. The installation instructions on this very site as well as the very detailed installation instructions in the documentations folder of the downloaded code has exact installation instructions one of which states you need to set permissions on those directories.

5. You need to be more clear here. The only place I know of that you must use a trailing slash on the url is in the edit integration settings which really has to do with a code mod that one can download for vb and is not part of our released application.

There really are not alot of bugs your posting about misconfiguration issues.

I really like the way ReviewPost and the vBulletin Plugin mod look, but it was by far the most difficult thing I've had to install or setup for vBulletin, even compared to many free beta plugins I use. Even with significant expert tech support at two different providers and help from PhotoPost support, it has been a challenge. I think if you are a coder or expert with php and such, you'd probably have little problem. If you are a typical vBulletin owner/admin who is just tech savvy enough to be dangerous, just don't expect a foolproof install/setup. Because if you are a fool like me, you'll probably break it lol.

Thanks to PhotoPost support for being patient with me to resolve some issues, especially those resulting from a recent server move!

well if one installs into vb then there is no problem. I have ran the software for along time.

You can have issues if you move servers upgrade vb many different things. Sometimes users try modifying things and break the application that is common.
