| RP 5.1.x questions
Hi Chuck -
We're planning on upgrading from RP 3.3 to 5.1 soon.
5.1 has been out for a while now. Is there anything pending in the pipe that will be released soon? Don't want to do another upgrade immediately after this one.
Also, do you have a full list of third party software and their versions used in 5.1.x? We'd like to check them out for security issues, etc.
For example, we've noticed 5.1 includes:
TinyMCE editor TinyMCE - Home
Enlargeit EnlargeIt! v1.1
and 4.00 included:
FamFamFam Icons famfamfam.com: Icons
Wasn't there a Flash upload feature that may be 3rd party as well? A full list with versions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Zig

How about the third-party software questions?
For example, TinyMCE is currently at 3.3.9.3 according to their website. Is that what's included in RP 5.1? (Looking at tiny_mcs. js in the RP5.1 zip, it looks to be 3.2.2 from 2009-03-05.)
Thanks.

It is whatever version it was when we included it to be honest. You can try updating your tinymce files but we do not provide support for third party software.

What about security issues that may be introduced by your inclusion of 3rd party software? For example, if tinymce has a security issue with the version you included, do you issue a RP update?

well 3rd party software issues are outside our product support. I have no problems trying to issue updates but with time constraints it is not like I am going to know if there is an issue and someone lets me know. Then it would take time to test new versions and if everything works.

Thanks.
Do you provide builds without the 3rd party software integrated?
The builds with 3rd party software seem to be a catch-22 for your customers. We get the software from you but the included 3rd party software isn't being actively monitored for security issues.

No we do not. We include features users want and have asked for. You can turn off the tinymce in admin if you wish so there is always that option which is basically the same as running a build without it installed.

Thank you.
Unfortunately in the event of an issue, I don't think that disabling in the admin interface would offer full protection since the underlying 3rd party files would still likely be accessible directly.

Chuck -
I got the following error when I ran phrases.php as part of the upgrade.
Preparing to update database...
Error performing MySQL command: INSERT INTO rp_languages VALUES (1, 'english', 'en', 'UTF-8', 'ltr');
Error: Duplicate entry '1' for key 1
ReviewPost has been successfully installed!
I downloaded RP 5.1 last week. Can I ignore it? I had to run phrases.php more than once, as I forgot to remove single quotes in one of our text strings.
Thanks!
Zig

Yes duplicate error means nothing means you already ran it.
