SMF integration I have installed reviewpost on an smf forum here MicrostockGroup.com The reviewpost is here Main Index - My Product Gallery On installation I told reviewpost to use my SMF database and when looking in mysql that is confirmed. I have set the cookie settings, but the login/out doesn't seem to work? Also I have no idea of how to get the two to look 'integrated' can someone push me in the right direction? thanks, tyler. |
On the admin page for reviewpost there only shows 1 user, so it can't be drawing from my smf database. I have read that reviewpost tries to guess where the members table is but how does it know that it has the smf_ prefix. I didn't enter that anywhere.. could that be the problem? |
If your only grabbing one user and your forum has many more I would suspect you did not install correctly to integrate with smf. You might need to reinstall and make sure everything is entered correctly on reinstall. |
thanks for the reply, Well I suppose it isn't grabbing any because the only user is the 'admin' user I had to set up. I would agree it isn't syncing with the SMF forum but I have no idea what is wrong. I have gone through the settings many times but couldn't find any errors. Am I suppose to enter the smf_ prefix somewhere? |
Well all you can do is rerun through the install and be careful to enter all the proper information asked. Make sure you select external integration and choose SMF 1 or 2 and answer everything correct. |
Yes, I have done that several times in an attempt to fix the problem but haven't had any luck. For integration is this setting Reviewpost Database Prefix (cannot be changed once set) supposed to be the same as the smf forum prefix or is this asking if I want to set up a prefix for the reviewpost tables. |
No that is not suppose to be the same. You need to enter your reviewpost database info where its asked. You need to enter the smf database info in the user database portion You need to select smf under external integration. You need to input the proper cookie name and the proper database table prefix where asked. If you answer everything then it will be integrated correctly. If you can login with a user from smf it is integrated. |
You need to enter your reviewpost database info where its asked. Done - I put the reviewpost data inside the smf forum database with a different prefix You need to enter the smf database info in the user database portion Done You need to select smf under external integration. Where is this setting You need to input the proper cookie name and the proper database table prefix where asked. I believe I have done this correctly. I have tried a number of different options, none of them worked, but I believe that is because I haven't got reviewpost to find my members table. |
Where is this setting The third step of install it asks you internal or external. It then goes to step 4 where is asks all the forum stuff make sure you select the proper version of SMF and then fill out the proper info. Like I said if you properly install you will be able to authenticate any user in smf in reviewpost. |
perhaps step 3 is the problem then. Currently, in the installation, when I click Click here to continue to Step 3 --> I click there, and then get a long list of database errors Quote:
But that is all, I am not forwarded to a step 3, I just sit there on an error page. |
The table to select an internal or external install is most definately there. Try scrolling down the page. You must complete a full proper install to be installed correctly. |
no, there isn't any tables to fill in on that page. It is just a long long list of smf errors on a white page. Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
You need to wait for the page to finish. |
Main Index - My Product Gallery Thats what I see You cat turn off the category cache and see what stats it loads under global options as it recognizes the user I registered in smf You also need to set permissions correctly and maybe upgrade group names as it does indeed look like you did not install correctly |
