reviewpost question

This is the only place I could find to post, for some reason, I cant start new threads and have restricted access. I just bought review post and have some questions.

My install instructions read the following, but the highlighted files were not included in my zip folder.

reviewpost
images (chmod 755)
uploads (chmod 777)
1 (chmod 777)

help (chmod 755)
data (chmod 777)
1 (chmod 777)
2 (chmod 777)
500 (chmod 777)
ioncube (chmod 755), this folder is only for the time-limited/expiring versions of ReviewPost

My config-inc.php file is missing the following;

// GD2 support
// this will only work if you have GD2 or better installed
// 0 - use mogrify; 1 - use GD2
$usegd = 0;

// on-the-fly watermarks
// requires GD2 and you must edit the file watermark.php
$onthefly=0;

// Debug variable.
// 0 = No debug notifications
// 1 = Program should generate an email and send it to the site administrator
// 2 = Program should terminate with a formatted screen with error message
// When set to 0 or 1, the program will not end on non-fatal errors.
$debug=2;

// Cookie variable
// This should be set to match the path for your cookies, / sets the cookie
// to be usable throughout the site. If your BB system has a different setting,
// then you need to put that path here as well.
$cookie_path="/";

// BotBuster integration
// http://www.botbuster.com
// Set to "yes" if you have BotBuster on your system (this includes the necessary tag)
$botbuster="no";

// ZLIB compression
// Set to "1" if you want to enable Zlib compression
$compression="0";

// Date Format
// you can change the format of how dates are displayed
// keywords:
// dow = day of week (Mon, Tue, Wed...)
// month = month (Jan, Feb, Mar...)
// mm = month in numerical format, dd = date, yyyy = year
$ppdateformat = "dow month dd, yyyy";

// If you are running VB and want the server to display the time as an offset
// of GMT (for example, to the timezone where your server is located), enter the
// offset here
$gmtoffset = 0;

// IP caching
// This variable is used to track IP addresses and userids for voting and viewing purposes
// $ipcache is set in HOURS. To limit voting and view increments to once a day, you would set
// $ipcache to 24. Depending on the volume of activity on your set, you may want to monitor
// the size of your cache and adjust accordingly.
//
// Setting $ipcache to 0 disables this feature.
$ipcache = 0;

// Fonts
// Here is where you can set the fonts used throughout ReviewPost
// Multiple fonts can be specified (just as in HTML code)
$mainfonts="MS Sans Serif,Geneva,Arial";
$fontsmall = "1";
$fontmedium = "2";
$fontlarge = "3";

Can you guys check my forum status here so I can post in the approprite area? Thanks

That should help you post.

Your download is most definately not missing the data and uploads folders. If you unzip the download there should be those folders in there,

Now as far as variables nothing is missing just chmod the config files and run install and input all information and things will be configured.

If there is anything else we can assist with let me know.

Chuck, thanks for the fast response, even on Sunday. I downlaoded the zip file again and my config-inc.php still doesnt match the contents of the one in the install instructions. Not sure if that is a problem thou.

When I go to install, the page is blank too lol.

Think I'll just go ahead and order the paid install as a xmas gift to myself.

Thanks again
Scott

Not a problem if there is anything else we can answer let us know. Merry Christmas

Chuck, I just paid for an install of reviewpost but I may not have made that clear on the order form and not sure if I even was given the choice of which product to install. If you have any questions please PM me here.

Thanks

Scott they should be able to match it up with the order you just purchased. They will email you with confirmation.

Scott December 22nd, 2008 10:28 AM

Thanks Chuck! I only hope the program is as fabulous as the support thus far.

Chuck S December 22nd, 2008 10:40 AM

Scott

Has customer service sent you the install document with the information we ask for and have you faxed that back to them?

You can converse with them by using the contact us link in the header.

Scott December 24th, 2008 10:33 AM

No Chuck they haven't. Like I said, I dont care if it doesnt get installed till after xmas, it's not critical lol. Just wanted someone from install team to acknowledge.

Tx
Scott

Yes well I would be the one installing it but I do not recieve anything from customer service till they get the paperwork back from you. I would suggest you email them through the contact link and we can get going on this.

Scott December 24th, 2008 12:55 PM

Ok will do.

Chuck S December 24th, 2008 04:09 PM

Have a Happy Holiday!

Scott December 26th, 2008 04:17 AM

I sent an email as you suggested so hopefully I'll hear something soon about the installation process.

Chuck S December 26th, 2008 04:34 AM

I saw it and assigned it to the proper person to respond. I notice your email bounced so try making sure you check your spam filter on your end and see if we have not responded to you as I am sure your issue is probally a result of we already emailed you and it got thrown into your spam filter on yahoo. Your email to us got thrown or bounced. I know yahoo emails can be a little testy.

Scott December 26th, 2008 07:08 AM

Chuck I went ahead and installed this myself. Had a few issues but worked them out thru error log. Not sure its working 100% but would appeciate it if someone could look at it

Thanks

Chuck S December 26th, 2008 01:35 PM

Okay well if you think you got it installed you can email them and cancel the install. If you have questions feel free to ask away.
