installation problem

Hello,

when calling up the installation script (install.php) via "Firefox" I just get the response "done" and a blank screen.

When calling up the script "phpinfo" within the same directory everything is ok.

System configuration_

- suse 10.3
- PhotoPost 6.03
- PHP Version 5.2.5
- Apache 2.2.4
- GD 2.0.34 enabled
- MySQL 5.0.46

I think that this problem is produced because of not having changed to the correct rights (chmod(against to "gfonfig" (etc/gconf/gconf.xml.schemas etc.)

Thank you very much for your help.

You might need to ask your host what permissions scripts need to be. usually php scripts at 644 and directories at 755 or 777 are fine but your hosts error logs would give you a clearer indication of the true error.

Thank you for the very fast response. The directories are chmoded according to you proposals. The install.php-file are chanded to 644. The same directory "phpinfo.php" is installed and can be called up. While calling up "install.php"ithout changing anything the browser responds with a blank screen and "done" and without any error-messages messages, so I I do not have any approach to the installation dialog.

a blank page gives nothing to work with. You can check out your server error logs or ask your host to and you can see what the actual issue is and post here and we can assist.

Thank you.

I "tailed" var/log/messages and I do see no relevant error-messages.

I will try to install Photopost on a Centos-Server.

Anyhow:

A php-"script" as "phpinfo.php" being situated in the same directory as "photopost" is running. "install.php" just gives back a blank screen with "done".

In "/var/log/messages" I do not see any error-messages.

My problem is that except seing the blank screen after calling "install.php" tha I do not get ANY ERROR messages. Just the blank screen with "done".

Because of that situation I am not able to send you any error messages from the system-log.

All the best,

H. Lübkert

well getting a blank page which is a generic server thing there would be errors posted in your errors logs on the server. You host may be of assistance here in determing what is wrong.

My suggestion is reupload all files reset permissions make sure both config files exist and try running install.

what do you mean you can not find config-intr.php as thats definately a file in the reviewpost distribution

As noted if you cant find the file make sure your downloading the code from us and upload everything to your site. Not uploading all the files could give you a blank page trying to install but as suggested you need to consult the error logs on the true error. You can also edit your servers php.ini file and turn display_errors On and restart the server that should help.

config intr.php

Well,

yesterday I downloaded the actual version. Unzip it etc. However the file mentionend was not a part of the downloaded version. There was no according file included within download 6.02 and was not included within the filelist for the download.

As I told phpinfo.php situated within the same directory as photopost is running quiete well. install.php responds with a blank screen and the message "done".

Tailing "var/log/messages" there are no relevant error messages.

I woundn't be concerncered about error messages but I don't see no error messages after calling the install script.

After changing it to 666 and calling it up (photopost/install.php) I see the script. Nothing more.

But there is no installion, the script is shown but not permonced, no errors written into "messages".

Best regards,

Holger

Your in the wrong support area

This is reviewpost not photopost area. Okay remove the .NEW extentions off the config files and then you should be able to run photopost install.php
