Display of products uploaded by users

There's a switch in the admin panel whether or not to display unapproved reviews - is there a similar switch for new products that have been uploaded by users? They go to moderation, but they appear immediately in the catalog before they have been approved. Is there a way to prevent new products from appearing in the catalog before they have been approved?

Unapproved products are not shown on the category list that I see please post a link to where you are saying unapproved content shows. All the queries have approved=1 which means products not approved can not be shown on the cat list.

OK, thanks. The product was showing to the user who just uploaded it, and it made it appear to me that the product was already in the category. It looked like a regular showproduct page. But I logged out and then logged in again as a different user, and went to the same URL, and the product wasn't there - just the header and an empty box instead of the product information. I had assumed that all users could see the product. I understand it now. Thank you

Correct the user sees their product after upload but with the awaiting approval image and no one else can see it nor can they if that leave that page and navigate other areas of the site.
