Error 500 when trying to install

When clicking on "/install.php?step=2&usegd=1" at
"Click here to continue to Step 3 -->"

I get the following this error message:

Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 500
domain name
Fri Jan 11 18:38:57 2008
Apache

I have tried several times to install ReviewPost, but I get the same error message every time.

I am installing ReviewPost without vBulletin, just as a stand-alone program. safe_mode = on, my web host will set it to off at monday I hope. For information, I run a vBulletin forum at the same web host under another domain name and that funtion very well.

What should I do now?

well do the server error logs have any pointers to the issue? error 500 is generic meaning it can be anything.

Two things try selecting imagemagick not gd as the processor. Try deleting the zipcode files off the server.

You can try reuploading them and run the upgrade script and see if they process that way. Your server is cutting out trying to import 8mb of zipcodes.
