SMF integration - cannot access user data.

Hello,

I am currently trying to get Review Post to work with SMF.

I have followed the installer and double, triple checked everything and repeated. I still cannot get the install to function.

the forums are installed and working. The review script is not showing any errors, apart from having no way to log in.

Any advice?

Kinda tempted to just go with VB3....

what do you mean on installing reviewpost did you specify the SMF cookie name where asked?

what is the exact nature of the issue. If you installed reviewpost to integrate with smf if your logged into your forum and go to reviewpost you should be logged in.

Hello,

I am not logged in when I go to reviewpost, even though I am logged in on the forums. It won't even allow me to log in.

I did specify the cookie name, and I checked via phpmyadmin and it is there in the database too.

Basically the review post script has no access to SMF user database.

If you inputted the correct information on install you would be cookied in of that I am sure we have several SMF users.

Was the cookie entered like such

SMFCookie10 etc

Look at the cookie created on your site what path is being set?

You can post a regular test account here

Hello,

The cookie is created (by the forum) as
Website: ".www.guitargear.net.au"
Cookie name: "SMFCookie215"

I have match all this back to the Photopost install...

Is there something i'm missing here? I've tried the install so many times it's ridiculous.

That is your issue then as your setting your cookie path to only work under the forum. The cookie path has to be site wide as this /

Well, some guidance as to where to change this illusive setting would be great, as it's not something I've knowingly done.

Any ideas?

By the way, I've read in the photo post threads that people have had the same issue with SMF and Photopost.

You mention that both should be on the exact some domain, so are you saying that I should have both scripts installed in the exact same folder? If so, I think that's a bit of an ask. I have a forum that has been at the same URL for months, and I go to install review post and I'd have to move it to keep the site structure consistent.

Would it be that hard to have Photopost/Review Post seek the cookie information (e.g a variable) rather than expecting to find it where you want it?

You might be able to ask at SMF where there cookie settings are at. I think it is in the config file but I am not sure since I do not use SMF
