Change installation directory?

Ho Hum. I finished my installation of reviewpost, then belatedly realised that I should have located it in a folder / directory named "reviews" instead of "reviewpost".

Is it possible to change this now? If so, I'd greatly appreciate step by step instructions for doing so.

Many thanks!

You can do this easy like this in the following steps.

1. In ADMIN => GLOBAL OPTIONS change all the paths and urls to be reviews not reviewpost and hit save. Do not worry the application will break now.

2. Edit the config-inc.php file via ftp and change the server path in that file to be reviews not reviewpost save the changes

3. Rename the directory on your server to be reviews not reviewpost

There you go it will not work under reviews

Sorry - I have a follow up question!

What if I now wanted to relocate the installation to a sub-domain - say, to reviews.domain.com instead of domain.com/reviews.

Is that feasible, please?

Thanks, but not sure I understand how to do point 3 (Rename the directory on your server to be reviews not reviewpost) in the context of using a sub-domain that will have the same name as the existing directory.

Do I need to move it / rename it / just leave it?

This would depend on your server setup if your subdomain panel allows you to map a subdomain to an existing directory just point the subdomain to the present directory and in global options just change the urls to the subdomain name
