| Some product titles messed up after upgrade.
Chuck,
I notice after the upgrade that any candle company that has an apostrophe in it now has a slash in the title. Example... http://www.candlefind.com/candle-rev...uct/225/cat/72
I was just starting to edit this problem for some candle companies. I went in to edit the title, clicked Submit Changes on the Edit Product page and then the html for that company's Buy Link is displaying on the product page. Go to the link above and check out their Buy Link to see what I mean. Why is this happening?
Also, for each company (or product) I had a summary, buy link and then a link to the candle companies official site. All of those "Official Site" links are gone. I guess there's no way for all of those links to be restored? if not, can you please add a category for me to list the official site?
Thanks,
Carolyn

You can edit slashes out of your database in Admin => Edit Categories as your old program must be been improperly storing slashes. Our new program stores things correctly.
We do not normally show html but you need to set the allow html in products to show html and I set that for you.
I can not comment on links to official sites as I never have seen this in the product and there is nothing in the upgrade that would delete something. If you did some kind of template edit as we discussed before you would need to redo whatever edits you did. You could give more of an example also so I know what you mean here

hey Chuck,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Regarding the slashes...I'm in Admin = > Edit Categories and don't really see where I can edit the sales out of my database. Could you tell me step by step?
Thanks for doing the allow html thing.
I shouldn't have used the term official link when I was describing it to you. All I mean is that in the old version before you ever added that extra field for my custom Buy Link, I had a field where I could just place a link like this... "www.whateversite.com." How would I add something like that back to each page?
Thanks so much.
Carolyn :-)

Edit a category and look at the category name and remove the slash
You can add whatever extra fields you like in Admin => Edit Categories for other links just like your Buy Link one.
There are 6 extra text fields per category plus unlimited other fields you can set up per category.

Hey Chuck,
1) I'm not referring to the categories having slashes, I'm referring to the actual product titles (or candle company names in my case) on each product page. See the slash in the product title on the page below? http://www.candlefind.com/candle-rev...uct/225/cat/72
I'm referring to the "McCall\'s Country Canning Candles" on that page.
Thanks for the other info. I took care of that.
Carolyn :-)

Oh, duh. I was still thinking when I went in to edit, it was messing up the html link. Sorry about that. I have a few more questions for you. Do you prefer that I email you or just post a new forum thread?
Thanks,
Carolyn
