I can not get review post to work on my host. help

Hello,

I have tried many things to get it to install, but it would not install. I have worked a lot with html and php (install quite a few forums)

I get up to this 1st step.
===========
Welcome to ReviewPost Install
You are only minutes away from having ReviewPost up and running on your server. This installation will take you through a few steps to get everything configured and running smoothly.

The next step will test your server to ensure that it has the necessary modules installed to run ReviewPost, and it will also set up your database for use.

Proceed to Configuration Verification -->

Click here to REFRESH your usergroups or change Admin password -->
=======
I click
Proceed to Configuration Verification -->

All my values for the config are 100% correct. and no matter what i put in it always says:
=======
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@mysite.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
========
I installed the test file and tested my host to be fully compatible with this script I have the latest vb running.

I tried installing this script another host and it worked, but i really need it on the host with the problem currently.

Any work around this?

thanks

Do you have a phpinfo link?

That is a very generic error and suggests a permissions error or something missing. You can PM me info to look into your issue.

Similar problem with install and 500 error

I just noticed this posting about internal server error, and I'm getting the same error. It seems to be happening as the db is getting setup. Did you guys find this solution?

Could this happen with a mysql permissions problem, or possibly a directory permissions issue?

I just though about one thing on your server. We have 4 zipcode files about 2mb each that get loaded into the database perhaps your server is having an issue with these files

Edit install.php and remove this as you can try running upgrade.php later and importing them

Yep your php memory is only 8mb and your trying to install a 7.5mb zipcode file so your definately gonna get a blank screen.

Although you can do the edit meantioned above I highly suggest you download Reviewpost 3.11 as 2.8 is a very old version.

ok. I purchased reviewpost almost 2 years ago. I do not have the account info to renew so I have to sign up again(changed isp..email gone..etc). Im just afraid that 3.11 would not work just like 2.8
Does 3.11 need 7.5mb also? Will I have any problems installing it with VB 3?

is there a trial version of 3.11?

thanks

You dont need to purchase a new license. You can renew members access. You already own reviewpost and can get your license details by going to this script and entering the email address on file for the license.

I have changed ISPs and the email associated with reviewpost account is gone. I dont recall the information anymore. It has been two years since I have purchased it.

Anyway will reviewpost 3.11 give me the same error?

Well your error is not as I stated before your using 2.8 and it did not have the zipcode data. I can't say what your issue is cause you could have a corrupt file if your copy is that old.

I can say 3.11 is installed on many sites and works great.

Thanks for the help.
I do like 3.11 and will upgrade.
I was just reading the policy on reviewpost, If I purchased the new one and I get the same error as before. You think I can get a refund?
The reason is im running a non profit site, and I already have attempted to install reviewpost many times on this host and it did not work for the past two years. I do not think that the file I have is currupt since I tested it on a friends host and it went past the install screen and installed on his host, but not mines.

You do not need to purchase a new license

As stated all you need to do is renew your member's access. You can validate your identity to sales@photopost.com to get your license email changed to one that works.

Have you verified your PHP setup. Please post a url to your phpinfo and you can PM me a link to your install. Sounds like a server issue so I need to see phpinfo first

I would need FTP

You either have missing files or corruption in some way.
