Noobie Q: - How to Create a Product to Review?

Noobie Q:

I just installed ReviewPost and created about 8-9 categories. I can see all those categories online. But I don't see any kind of link to add the products to be reviewed by myself and users even though I'm logged on ad the administrator.

Am I missing some admin setting? How does one go onto this next step?

Thanks. -- Rik

ps: The install script worked great!

Have you set permissions in admin => edit usergroups

You need to set upload review etc permissions

Chuck:

adm-index.php:
--------------
For the usergroup, Administrators, all seven options are toggled to "yes" and the product per day limit is set to zero (I assume that means unlimited).

User interface:
--------------
I'm sure I'm logged in as the Administrator as the bottom bar above our footer shows the normal vBulletin options of Contact Us -- Admin - Mod - Archive - Top. And, I can log into the adm-index.php and maintain my Administrator status.

But, there are no links in the User Interface to add a product, etc.

What else should I look at?

Please advise.

Thanks and regards. -- Rik

Chuck:

Thanks for getting back on this so quickly.

I haven't modifiied anything other than creating categories and toggling a few options within the admin program.

So if the reviewpost menubar is missing, where do I get it? Perhaps some file was not uploaded properly when I did the install? Which file controls that?

Thanks. -- Rik

Chuck:

Both the local and server directories showed the same number of bytes on the menubar.tmpl. But, I re-FTPed (ASCII) all the template files and made them executable (the online install instructions didn't mention chmod 777 or 775 settings for the templates directory files).

Anyway, that fixed it. I can see the missing menu now and will now move onto the next step.

Thanks. -- Rik
