Upgraded to VB3.5.0 and now reviewposts blank?

hello -

i purchased reviewpost back in april of '05. it was working great until about an hour ago when i updated my vb forum to 3.5.0. now when i try to get to the reviewpost pages, they are blank. even the index.php is blank?

i am not sure what version of reviewpost i had. any suggestions? i had a good build-up of reviews so hopefully i didn't lose them.

i'm assuming i should update to the newer version then? i won't lose any data would i?

i shouldn't be updating important stuff like this at 2am. haha. now how am i going to sleep?

Thanks,

Johnny

You need to upgrade your reviewpost to the latest to be compatible to VB 3.5

thank you. i went ahead and uploaded the files. i edited both the config-inc.php and the config-intr.php files.

ran the upgrade.php and when i chose the correct version upgrade, i get an error saying it can't connect to the reviewpost database.

i checked the config-inc.php file and the settings are correct. is there another page i need to edit?

You downloaded the latest reviewpost? Make sure you entered the correct info in config sounds like you missed something

when i open up the config-inc.php file, it says 3.1 version.

but in the upgrade.txt file, it states:

1) Check for new config-inc.php variables, some recent additions are:
$cookie_domain has been added for website cookies. I highly recommend setting this to ".youdomain.com" where
yourdomain is the name of your domain. This will enable cookies to be read across your website regardless
of the URL (i.e. galley.website.com and forums.website.com). If you are using a forum integration you
must have this set in both your forums and reviewpost.

the part about "$cookie_domain" - is that suppose to be in my config-inc.php file? i did a search and did not find it.

Thanks,

Johnny

Sorry - How should i show you the information i have?

the original config-inc.php file said ver. 2.91.

the upgrade.txt file said not to upload the config-inc.php and config-int.php file. i over-wrote them by mistake but had a back-up copy which i then just re-uploaded.

you can see the error msg at www.myfishtank.net - click on the profiles on the nav to see the errors.

i checked the settings and the database name/login/pass is correct. a bit weird.

Thank you,

Johnny

Please try redownloading the build and make sure to use the upgrade.php file in there

Hello -

i redownloaded and ran the upgrade and this time it worked. thanks.

just browsing around, i noticed that in a review, where a person can leave a positive aspect and negative aspect - the field says "array" in it.

So do you append the information in the new config file? It isn't enough to say never upload.

Also permission-wise, should you modify? It takes only a few minutes to pen a full upgrade instruction, instead of the apology that's in there now. Been up all night getting my system screwed up.

Sola,

The upgrade instructions clearly state that to upload everything and never overwrite your config files. It also states that a complete list of every changed file can be found at changelog.txt. I do beleive the upgrade instructions are quite specific and complete. If not let me know what you think is confusing. I can easily make changes.
