| 3.01 install problem: The URL to your forum directory must be filled in
I'm trying out a fresh install of ReviewPost 3.1 on a test platform before I upgrade the live version on my site.
For 'forum intergration I'm using: VB3
For 'URL to forum directory' I'm using: http://mydomain.com/forums
'Forums database table prefix' is blank
For 'Forum cookie prefix' I'm using: bb
For 'URL to Reviewpost main script directory' I'm using: http://mydomain.com/reviews
I get as far as /reviews/install.php?step=3®type=external and get the following error message:
We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...
The URL to your forum directory must be filled in.
The thing is that I have filled in all the necessary fields.

Exactly the same problem here, I just purchased RP yesterday and tried to install today but can't go further Step 4.
Like user above, everything filled in correctly. Had no issues installing and integrating PP Classifieds and PP Pro with IB 2.1 except this product. I used the same settings as I've used with PPC and PPPro yet stopped by the error: "We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...The URL to your forum directory must be filled in."
Thanks.

At least now I know it's not just me having this problem :-) I guess we just have to wait and hold tight until one of the developers respond to this thread.

Unfortunately there's no change - the same error message is returned at the same point in the process.

My mistake... I downloaded install.zip and extracted the file to a directory where my RevewPost software is... I forgot to copy the install.php to my install directory.
Tried it and it works :-) One thing I noticed I set the intergration parameters correctly during the setup but when I looked at the newly installed reviewpost there was no intergration taking place. I went in to adm-index and click on 'Edit Integration' only to find all of the fields were blank.
The "My Products · Watch List, etc" bar across the top of the page should be in a blue strip just the same as in previous versions.

well I modified the install file as thats just a typecast thing for the integration but I dont rightly know what you mean about some blue bar. If you dont link a url for us to see I can not comment further to understand what you mean

What I really mean is that the installation of ReviewPost doesn't seem to have adopted the skin / style as the rest of my site.
My test install is on a test box so it's not publicly available. To give you an idea of 'the blue stripe' I'm talking about take a look at my current live installation of v2.9 at http://scene-out.com/party - you'll see the 'menu strip' above the thumbnails is in blue.

Yes and it should be in blue. We use the menubar class which translates to the vbulletin tcat class

I did not see a problem with the link you posted as I stated. What problem? The install you posted looks just fine.

The problem is on my test install of the latest version of ReviewPost (the URL you've looked at is my live install of ReviewPost 2.9).
My problem is: The "My Products · Watch List, etc" bar across the top of the page should be in a blue strip just the same as in previous versions.
Omegatron replied: Yes and it should be in blue. We use the menubar class which translates to the vbulletin tcat class
Your reply went straight over my head - I don't know what to look out for to fix the problem.

Despite the fact that I'd filled in all of the relevant settings during the install I found that when I went into /adm-index.php, 'Edit Settings', 'All Options' many of the settings I had set during the install had not been saved to the database. In this case 'Use Integrated forum stylesheets?' was blank which explains why I wasn't getting the skin applied to my ReviewPost install.
I commented on this problem (in this thread) on 25th September... "One thing I noticed I set the intergration parameters correctly during the setup but when I looked at the newly installed reviewpost there was no intergration taking place. I went in to adm-index and click on 'Edit Integration' only to find all of the fields were blank."

| Same error...but after new install.php
Hi,
had the same error as the others. Installed new install.php. Made to the point it created the database but then got this error:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'thefeed_smf1@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/thefeed/public_html/review/install.php on line 1038
I cannot connect to the Members database.
Any ideas?
thanks..jamz..

Thats easy you have not entered the correct members database connection information. Check the information check for trailing spaces if you did copy and paste etc.

| Works
OK..got it to work...for some weird reason I had to paste in the encrypted password...oh well..
I havent searched the forum yet, but How would a user logging into my forum access/see the review stuff? Do I need to intergrate it ito the forum main page or something? A link on the main page?
Thanks again..
