Forum (vB3) integration flawed (??) PROBLEM 1 I've done some searching as not to ask a question that has already been dealt with but couldn't find anything... If there is an answer for this that I missed, I apologise in advance. Ok, I've installed Reviewpost and got it working fine... Then I went to integrate my vB3 forums with it and that's where the problem is.... The integration went fine except this: This is my forums... It is the default vB skin with the only style modifications being the colour scheme via the css in the AdminCP Code: Content visible to verified customers only. Now, when I do the integration, this is what happens to RP: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Could someone either, a) tell me how to get my tables to work again in RP, or tell me how I could modify the default RP css to make a similar colour scheme? PROBLEM 2 Ok, I went live with the modified css to get similar colours (still would like to use the vB integration though! :D ), but now I'm experiencing another issue! The cookies don't seem to be inherited from one to another application. If I log into vB, RP is logged out, if I log into RP, vB is logged out... And, I can't get into either adminCP (login loop) unless I clear my cookies. Both scripts are set for: cookie domain = .mumsonline.net cookie path = / cookie prefix = bb I'm at a loss here and do not want to keep telling my users that it'll ok, just clear your cookies! :( |
I've figured out how to edit the default CSS to kinda match my forums, but if someone can sort out the table formating, I'd prefer to use the integration method... Thanks again |
Problem2 solved. Being impatient, I decided to look for more issues with cookies, and since I read that photopost is nearly the same code base as reviewpost, I looked in photopost's forums. The problem (if anyone in the future has this issue) is that I set my vB license incorrectly (used my customer number)... I did not think to double check that though as I assumed that if I entered the wrong license info, Reviewpost would have given me an error.... Anyway, it's now working so, thanks for... Well, thanks! (and maybe future versions of your software will echo an error if the vB license info isn't right to prevent users like me from going insane? :D ) |
Yep was gonna tell ya to check your license number The first issue is not a problem you just need to under forum settings in admin set use forum style to YES |
still seem to have intermittent cookie problems... On my machine (firefox), I seem to lose my cookie session over night (go to bed, wake up and have log in again)... Whilst my wife's machine (IE) will drop cookie session when she ends a browser session. The same goes for some of my users... Some have no problems, whilst others are logged out every time they close the browser. Is there a way I can fix this? There wasn't an issue with cookie sessions before the RP integration, so it's pretty 'conclusive' that this is causing the issue. I hope this can be resolved because I have 1800+ members for my forums and can't make them all login EVERY visit and as such will have to drop RP! Thanks in advance |
I dont think there are any issues as the cookies we create are lasting for a year in our code unless the user/ browser deletes them. The cookie that is used is made by VB if you login there so I cant say how long there cookies last but I know the session in VB does timeout with the setting you set it in VB. Cookie settings vary by how you set things up in browsers. I would just double check the cookie settings Take note we just released 3.0 today so you might want to upgrade |
Here is my settings: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Is there anything that stands out to you? |
Looks fine I would just make sure users dont have cookies set to to clear at certain intervals etc. I would also upgrade |
