Last reviews sidebar table

Hi Michael and Chuck,

I imagine that you are probably sleeping now, but I am exploring the RP 2.9.1 admin panel, and I noticed something.

Even though I have selected that the last 5 reviews show up in the side panel settings, onely one review appears?

Do you have any idea of why that might be?

How many reviews do you have? If you only have one then thats gonna show. Saying 5 reviews to appear in the comments pal will only show up to the number of reviews you set. Anotherwards thats the limit variable on the query

I have 56 reviews total, (about 20 in the last week), but only one shows up in the last reviews sidebar table.

Interesting PM me your admin login to check settings etc. I have checked my reviewpost install as well as several others and dont see any issue.

Hi Chuck,

I thought of something....

Would the "recent reviews" sidebar only show recent reviews with photos that were uploaded with that product?

Since I upgraded from 1.0.2 to 2.9.1, all of the last 20 reviews or so have NOT had photos associated with the product that was reviewed.

If it is true that only reviews of products with images are shown in the "last reviews" sidebar, then is it possible to change the script so that a default review image is used with all products that have no image?

This would also improve the index page by including all reviews in the "random products" and other tables with the products that do have an image.

You have to approve the reviews to have them show there.

I thought that I had auto approve on for reviews?

I assumed that since the reviews are displaying in the categories, that they would display in the sidebars as well.

I checked my admin panel settings.

This is the setting that I remembered: "Display unapproved reviews? Yes"

I see that the process for displaying an unapproved review in the category pages and indexes uses different script.

That's o.k... I can live with that

Just a note: I think that the number of last reviews setting is off by one in the script, because when I had it set to 5, 4 reviews displayed, and when I just set it to 6, 5 reviews displayed. (That's not such a big issue, but you might want to adjust that in the new RP upgrade).
