Unhappy Using Server Side Includes in ReviewPost Pro

I am integrating several different software packages on my web site and I would like to use a server side include to customize the header area.

How do I go about using a server side include within a reviewpost template? I've tried using the <!-- xdkdkdkdkd --> approach and also the PHP include command - but neither seems to work.

The <!-- dkdkdk --> approach results in the ssi comment appearing in source of the HTML of the page (instead of rendering the content of the file).

And the PHP include approach results in the actual PHP include code appearing on the page (instead of rending the content of the file).

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

SSh Includes usually require a shtml file which means if you want to include ssi in reviewpost it can only be in the header or footer files and those files must be shtml

Yes, but please more detail

Yes, I understand that. My ISP requires .shtml or .shtm - only files with that extension will check for and act on a server side include. Since reviewpost is a php application, I'm not sure what to do.

How EXACTLY should I use an ssi within reviewpost? Can you describe it to me in a lot of detail - I'm still rather new at this.

Which reviewpost template should I modify? What should I put in the template? Can you provide me with a sample for the explanation?

How would you recommend that I make this in light of the fact that mye my ISP will only act on .shtml or .shtm files?

Thanks Again

Reviewpost can link html files for the header and footer. As I stated above place the ssi include in the html file you use for the header or footer of reviewpost and rename that file shtml file.

In your admin options link via server path to that header.shtml file

That would be the only way to do it. Since the template files get called by a php script there is no html file to parse.
