Trouble logging in, Gallery & VB different on domains

I would like to use two different domains for the forum and Photopost.
I use the vBulletin database for users.

When I login it says it was successful but when I got the main page I see "1 unregistered user online" and I got no admin options. When I check the login trouble page I obviously got the bbuser and pw cookie set. I tried to delete the cookie and login again but I never appear logged in.

Any solution to this or it is required that vB and Photopost is on the same domain?

Strange, when I look in the users table it is empty but the usercount on the statistics seems to be right, e.g. 31xx users as in my forum.

Sorry for my ramblings, ocourse it is empty if I use the vB database instead of local users.
