Question From ubb.threads to vBulletin

Hello,

We are ready to move our boards from ubb.threads to vBulletin.
Can we easily change the ReviewPost registration system and the integration from UBBt to vB3 without any loss ?

Funny, I jsut saw your post over on vbulletin.com about your testing the importer. Assuming the userids stay the same, then I see no reason you can't. Once I know the importer works properly I'll be testing on one of my sites the runs threads/PP.

Oh, oh. The usernames will be the same, but not the userids (my userid is 4143 before, and 722 after).
Will I have to update the userid of the 300+ reviews manually ?
And where, in RP config files, do I change the integration from ubbt to vb ?

Well, the type of integration is handled in the settings table - not the config-inc.php.

The userid would have to be modified (maybe this could be integrated into the import script? you might need to store the before-after ids so you could write an easy converter). There also might be an issue with the images stored as I believe RR also uses the userid to associate images to a user used in reviews.

Every VB Importer I have seen whether its phpBB or Threads to VB is designed poorly in my opinion.

VB should naturally assume in any situations that since userids are so important in sites that they should import the userid's are imported exactly as they are. I see no reason why user 4143 should be set to 722. It makes alot more work for the importer in my opinion. Why not simply scan things and import the userid's as is. This makes way more sense to me.

So did Threads go alot better than phpBB? Most of the horror stories on these forums are people switching from phpbb to VB

Hopefully, I don't know phpBB

But... there is finally one issue with the importation.
The anonymous users are linked to a profile in the reviews, as if they were regular members, even for a review posted after the importation. So two anonymous users can't rate a same product, as you can see in the following screenshots.
Of course, the "Unregistered / Not Logged In" group works fine in vBulletin, and i've made a refresh of the Usergroups in the Admin panel...
