Okay Chuck, but why then even have this link to the ReviewPost instructions? PhotoPost Classifieds Installation Guide - Classified Ads Software for Community Websites
I was using these instructions as in my Members Area, where I can click on the links to download my software products...there is also a link there titled "Installation Manual", which took me to the above link to follow the instructions to install v6.02, which tells nothing to do with the xml files. I can pass along that those old links need to be updated
I was speaking about the info on this site here and all the announcements as well as the documentation in the actual software.
They all have the information I was referring to here in my posts.

Yeah this has been my number one pain for almost the past year. Customers beg for more vb integration and I give it to them placing the entire navigation structure in the vb header and document everything. I even placed in every announcement on our site to for the last 3 releases of all the software products to read the documentation in the documentations folders of the downloaded code and I still answer deal with this issue a couple times a week. |

Chuck, I can certainly understand your frustration as I certainly would be in your shoes.
To better mitigate this, there should not be a link to installation instructions then on the Members Area where the member downloads the software. This is confusing to the customer as the customer may not read all that you point out, but they certainly will go to the Members Area to download their software...and for the one place they are certain to go....they get the incorrect/out dated instructions. One, like me, would assume the link to the instructions is what we are to follow.
So, if the link doesn't get updated as often as the instructions in the downloaded archive...then why even have this link? Only reason I can see keeping this link available is to keep you pulling the last few stubbles of hair trying to grow on top of that head of yours. |

Good Chuck...I think you will save yourself some wear and tear with this as it surely confused me and I'm sure I wasn't the only one, which forced us to continue posting for help.

Not a big deal.
Personally I do not think it will matter since 99% of the time that I deal with this issue we are talking about it is PhotoPost Pro.

I didn't want to run a Beta version of the software on my server until it went to release.
If it is in release...I may have to get it installed. If I do install it, I will consider being a Beta tester.

Well if you have time or you want me to give it a shot let me know I just am looking for people to install the new beta releases I have out to support vBulletin 5 to make sure everything works as expected. vBulletin 5 is a bit wonky if you ask me so you know I need to get as many people trying things out as I can.

| vBulletin FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Yes vBulletin and PhotoPost companies both allow you to have a non web accessible testing area.
All you need to do is lock it down with an htaccess file. You do not need to ask vb anything just read there FAQ under the license faq based on having a second install.
Here are the steps you need to do to be compliant with both software installs.
1. Create a directory on your server called beta or test http://www.yoursite.com/beta
2. Upload a copy of vbulletin 5 there.
3. Send me ftp info and you can lock that ftp info down to just that new directory if you want or not I do not care.
4. I will create an htaccess file to lock down that directory and install test copies of vb and photopost there and verify that the new vb5 integrations works and then send you the info to play around.
My goal here obviously is just to verify the integration works across as many people as possible before I release gold releases.

You might want to check out the new beta and some of the features. Was going through some old threads reading posts for ideas for the beta and see an issue on your site. Main Index - Equipment/Products Review
On your site check in your reviewpost the url for reviewpost you have entered your links are not going to where they are suppose to be. Also check the image data url. Your missing the trailing slash on the data url in edit integration settings in admin for reviewpost and classifieds.
