database: zipData

When look at my reviewpost database, I see a table called zip data that has 8MB already even though we just started.

Could you please tell me what is zipdata, and why is it so big?

Thanks!

Sean

That is the US zipcode database which should be 8mb and holds the zipcode data so that you can use the distance calculations.

Thanks Chuck. Where do we need to calculate the distance?

What is a safeway to remove this? Backing up the database is an important task, I'd like to remove this large overhead table if possible.

Thank you very much!

Just make sure in your admin panel the setting to use zipcode integration is set to NO. You can then truncate that database table.
