Manufacturer Names and Abbreviations

Suspect these aren't bugs - hoping there's an admin panel switch...

1. When we do a search the results do not show the full title of products (they are abbreviated.) RP3.3 used to show full names which we need as many of our products are only differentiated by the full name.

2. Along those same lines, we need the manufacturer name displayed in the results... something I'm told was part of 3.3 as well.

I would be know what is a part of 3.3 since that was years ago.

Definately not bugs though.

Maybe in the search queries where you see title add the field manu in the query as well in search.php

Yep that should add manufacturer into the titles displayed.

Hey Chuck,

Along the same line, there wouldn't be a switch in the panel to get the "Receive Email Update" emails to contain the manufacturer name as well? We need it to distinguish products there, too.

I do not think there is any option for such. I guess what you modify all depends on which email phrase your working.

The manufacturer and title are only joined together for I beleive display purposes on the features products blocks category display and product display if I remember.

Maybe in reviews.php the query and list statement can be changed to say this in bold

Maybe for new product uploads you can change line 671 of image-inc.php to say this
