| How to change things in the showproduct page?
Hi Chucks,
Under the Home >Main >Category, how could I change the following things in the show product page?
1. On the top (under the menu bar), I would like to disable the showing of thumbs for the more products.
2. Would like to increase the number of thumbs in a row (currently 3 in a row and I would like to change it to 5);
3. Could I add in brief discription of the thumbs somewhere next or below the "supersize" word?
4. How many thumbs are allowed for the product? Can I change the number of thumbs if necessary?
Thanks in advance!

1. In admin panel under show photo options turn off the next prev image option
2. In admin Layout options you can set rows and columns.
3. Only if you actually modify things to do that
4. There is only one photo therefore only one thumbnail for each picture

Thanks for your response, Chucks. However,
1. I could not find the show photo options in the admin panel
2. The admin layout options could allow setting "Number of columns for most recent additions section?", not the rows and columns for the images in the show product;
3. thanks
4. What I meant is "how many images is allowed to be uploaded to the show product page?" ?
Happy New Year!

I've changed Admin => Show Categories Options => Number of columns for thumbnail pages to 4, 5 and 6. The number of columns shown is still 3 in the product display page. Please see the captured image Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Anything else to do with it? There are too much empty space in the screen....

Your talking about something else entirely those are not the thumbnail previous those are the thumbnails of the actual product your viewing which can have up to 9. You would need to alter your showproduct template accordingly. we simply have them centered in rows. Your site width will vary depending on your setup.

Chucks, I thanked for your support. But what I asked, is all in the showproducts that is quite consistent from the beginning. It might be you have to answer many different questions that made you mess things up. Anyway, I got the same answer again - alter the showproduct template to suit my own application. But I do hope it could be done simpler in the admin panel in the future release, to chane the showing of the number of images in a row. The screen that I captured did look unpleasent..

You said under the top menubar you wanted to not display the thumbs. You can turn on of off the next previous image previews which is what we thought you meant because those display either top bottom left or right. There are no thumbs that display under the menubar on showproduct. Now only after you provide a picture do we see you mean the actual product thumbnails. What you really meant to say is you where talking about actually the bottom of the page under the main display. You can not alter that display with a setting it is there for a reason to cycle through all the product image displays. We would not include a function to turn that off as it would limit the functionality of the program and be a bug. Scleractinia sp. - Reeftalk Reviews
You can upload up to 9 images to represent a product for review. Those thumbnails are shown 3 in a row for 3 rows centered nicely in the display.
In a support capacity there are several different scenerios depending on whats asked and the answer you will be given.
As I have stated if you want to alter the display there to be anything other than 3 images to a row for 3 rows you need to alter your showproduct templates html. here is the block of code I am referring to. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
You would alter the html output of the template as you see fit.

Thanks for your detailed explanations, Chucks. I think I should try to provide screen captures in the future to minimize the possibility of mis-communication. Thanks again.

Screen captures are better than nothing but usually when dealing with actual output it is best to place a url. enjoy the new year. |
