Cookie issues

I have my cookies set as described in item 7 here...

vBulletin Installation/Integration Common Issues and Resolutions.

But it still will not stay logged in. If I log in through my vBulletin THEN go to Reviewpost it works but if I log in through reviewpost and then click on anything at all it logs me out. BUT... My admin account stays logged in fine. Very confused.

I've checked and rechecked and rechecked and it still will not stay logged in at all. Even weirder... When I log in as my test account and click a review it automatically switches me to my admin account.

As long as your cookies are set as noted in the cookie FAQ and your vb license number is correct your cookies should work fine.

Example setting both to

.yoursite.com

means the cookie is readable across every subdomain on the site so it would be impossible to be logged out which is why our facts state how to set the cookie like that.

If your creating cookies with domains like below and your urls flip flop between the www you will of course be logged out because the cookie domains are different which is the number one mistake people make with cookies.

yoursite.com

and

www.yoursite.com

I THINK I solved it. I had to remove the reference to originating forum that said optional.

Huh... Guess that didn't fix it. Still keeps logging out. Utterly confused on this one.

If you log in to the Message Board THEN go to Reviewpost it works perfectly. But logging into Reviewpost first never seems to create a cookie.

Your cookie domain is not set as stated in our cookie FAQ

Your forum is installed on ‘BentRider Online and you have installed reviewpost on bentrideronline.com those are two different domain names.

You must set your cookie domain in the forum and reviewpost as .bentrideronline.com if you want it to work.

Seems to have worked! THANKS!!!

Only slight kink is now it takes an act of god (or clearing all cookies from the browser) to log out.

Anytime you make a cookie change you need to clear all other cookies in the browser.
