Subscriptions and emails

Firstly, a big thanks to Chuck for helping get me up and running.

As a newb I'm sure that my question is a silly one:

I can get people who subscribe to get email confirmations etc but they are unable to verify the account. When they get their confirmation email and click the link they get the message "Sorry, but we are unable to verify this account". This means that they can log in but as they are not verified they can't post new reviews or add new products.

I think that the email settings are correct but are there any standard configs to check? I have had a look but can't see.

To answer my own question I think that I've mostly got this worked out by going in to User Groups and editing the permissions of registered users. They still get an 'sorry unable to verify' message though....

You have a test user account to post there that is registered user group 4?

where are you getting the message when a user who is not verified tries to upload?

Sorry Chuck, you've kind of lost me.

When someone gets the email for them to click on (sent to their email inbox) and they click the link they get the 'Sorry, but we are unable to verify this account' message.

They can log in to the reviews site but have no permission to add any reviews or upload anything.

If I have the box ticked in the admin area to not require verification people can do everything.

As a matter of interest, I've noticed that people who are able to add reviews are able to add multiple reviews for the same product. How is that disabled?

Thanks thats what I wanted to know where as there are two different places you can get that message.
