I want to have the search include the extra fields. Is there a way to tell it to do this? If not, has anyone successfully created a hack to do this?

The search includes the main 6 extra fields but not the additional extra fields you would create. I am not aware of any hack to do this.

How do we use the main 6 extra fields?

If you edit categories in admin the 6 extra fields under there you would fill in a name for that extra field and users would fill in data when uploading a photo

The additional extra fields are not searchable.
