Added Fields search?

I've added a number of optional fields to the template to help find the photos in the database.

Unless I replicate all the field contents into the Keywords, the Search all fields yields nothing.

1. What fields are being referenced in the "SEARCH ALL FIELDS"

and

2. Is there any way to actually SEARCH added fields through the program?

1. search all fields means search the products table title description keywords extra1-6 fields in that table.

2. Not much I can comment on since I dont know what your doing but more than likely if your hacking the code to add in functionality and it is not working then you have not hacked things correctly.

What is your meaning of added fields? Because your talking about hacking templates so lets be clear here on what your doing.

If your talking about the additional cat fields you create yourself no the search can not be modified to include them. They are all stored as arrays in additional tables not in the products table itself where things are searched.

If these are added and can not be search?

First question Why have them? It would seem that you would want the product flexible enough to search on these fields.

It clearly states in the search function the following.

Search Categories

Fill in the fields below to execute a search.
Keywords

search title only
search title and description
search all fields

If not then can you alter the number of Key words that are limited to 10?

To help users find your product, please enter a few (up to 10) descriptive keywords (separated by spaces):

If they are stored in an array in additional tables then I should be able create a search on these if I know where they are stored is this not correct? Even if I have to build a custom search feature this is what I am looking to do.
