Your server can not handle the spider urls it is not setup to allowpathinfo

You can have different header footers headtags for each category if you choose and that is setup in Admin => Edit Categories.

does IIS 5 allow allowpathinfo? where can i find out how to configure that if it does?

using the headtag.htm files does not allow me to change the title tag. it just adds a second one.

and with the description tag i want to include the product description in there how can i insert it there?

I cant say probally not it is usually an apache thing using mod rewrite and is

AcceptPathInfo On

AllowPathInfo On

depending on your apache setup

Correct that is correct as the title tag is not placed in a headtags file it is print in the printheader function of pp-inc.php. You would add additional tags using headtags.htm

Can't say how to do that probally you would need to modify code in someway as descriptions are only shown on one page and the headers work with categories which have different pages.
