well thats a very relative term here based on what your trying to do. What username you talking about the user viewing the custom template thats easy.

$User['username']

well again all depends on where your talking and what other data your pulling where how why etc. Example the username of the person who posted the item is in the same table you grab the data from in your query so you would define it.

well in your showproduct script what is your variable for user?

I noticed that and thought it was weird it's not working. well i am running an old version and I might have done a hack on it. So I just bought the upgrade and i'll install that and see if that works. thanks for the help!
