hi all,

i'm french so i directly apologise for my bad english writting.

i install reviewpost in a separate database and all is ok for the integration.
I use the inc_reviews.php file too to display random products on my index page, but i have a problem : the system displays only my 20 first posted products on index page, i have 21 products but the 21th product never appears

what is the problem ?
is there an option to indicate how many products will be displayed when random option is activated ?

This all depends on what your settings within that file are. Do you have it set to display only 20 products? Does that product not have an image?

There is always a reason its all about which one your situation falls under

hi,

my last product have a picture so it is not that way.
where can i set the products number to display ? directly in the inc_reviews.php file or in the reviewpost admin cp ?

Right inside the inc_reviews file is how many products to show and how many rows

oh... probably my english is badder i think

i already set this two variables (with 1 and 3 lol), i set to random display too.
now in the feature_box on my index page it's ok except it's displaying randomly only my first 20th posted products... not the last one... so my question is is there a setting to display more than 20 products in the feature box on my index page ?

http://club-scootergt.com/forums/index.php on right-side column you can see the box who displaying the products... only 20 products (randomly)... never the 21th !

You have it set to display 1 column and 3 ads max and thats exactly what it is doing so nothing is wrong at all.

Your have it set to display 3 products and thats what it displays

well,

i put random in inc_review with 1 for a column and 3 for the number of products to display... this, it is ok ! no problem ! i understand well what i do in this settings

so in my index page i have three products displayed... randomly. when i refresh the page it displaying three other products. so the system choose randomly into my all products what it displaying. i'm ok with this.

i have 21 products BUT the system doesn't choose my last product, the 21th ! the system choose only in my first 20 products i have posted, never the 21th

WHY ?

i think i have to learn more english

How do you know this?

Random means random. Try changing it to latest in the $q_switch line and see what happens.

what a good idea ! i try to set "last" and my last products doesn't appears too !

You have it set to most popular or most views is what I am seeing not latest. Look at the 3 products that show they are the first three most popular products so you have not set it to latest

i'm sorry but i think u don't understand what is my problem, because of my poor english...

all is ok except my last product who never appears !!!!!!!

in this case, my very last products doesn't appears, so it is a bug because it should be displayed, isn't it ?

i set it to latest to check if it be displayed but no !
i re-set to random brecause if that i want : RANDOM... but RANDOM for all my products not only for the first 20 !

You have not shown any issue here sorry. You have it set to random now and it is random. There is no telling what shows up or what doesnt. It is working perfectly as I have seen. You cant tell it what photos to bring up. If you want it to show the latest product then set it to latest. If you want it on random then it is on random

ok my last chance : Why when i set random it dosen't display randomly ALL products ? why only the first 20 posted products ?

There is no issue that I see

Random means random do you see now? No one can tell what numbers come up. They are totally random therefore I can not say which ones will ever be picked its random. You can sit there all day and hit refresh and never know which ones will display

yes i understand what u said but soon or later all products should be displayed in the box.
i have only 21 products and i test something :

i refresh one hundred times my index page and the 21th products never appears

statitics can't approve this... there is a bug or a setting we don't know

There is no bug here. This is the query we use in that file

There is no problem with your site random products are displayed and it works. No one is going to be able to predict the laws of probability for you here
