Add php ?

I have two questions:

1) I want to add tracking code (php) to my site, is there a common file that I can put it in that will be included in all pages ? ie. pp-inc.php or header-inc.php (I'm pretty sure these are included in every page, I'd just like to confirm)

2) Are there any issues to adding, say, a custom include on some php pages in general ?

You can place includes or tracking code in any template like menubar etc or you may place it globally in the header and footer html files you load over the program in global options
