reviewpost and photopost ?

Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to link reviewpost and photopost user database? Like you can with photopost and vbulletin ?

I am going to be setting up a site based on reviewpost, but would like to have many more photos of my products, so I am thinking of also purchasing photopost for this site, but it would only make sense if I could link the two systems.

For example in a reviewpost listing, I can have a link that says "Click here for photo gallary of this product" and that will take me to a photopost link something like : domain.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=507

But I don't want to have the photopost open to the world, the link should only work if someone had logged into the reviewpost system already.

Thanks
Duane

You might need to deal with your site specific hacks or tweaks yourself as to make things work like you want if its not the norm. With that said I will explain what integration we do support.

Now our integrations are like pyramid on our products hense Reviewpost can integrate with Photopost and Classifieds can integrate with Reviewpost or Photopost. So if you own Reviewpost basically you need to install Photopost and once thats installed move all the reviewpost users into your photopost users table. Once that is done on your reviewpost database set setting 41 of your reviewpost settings table to photopost and setting 83 to the table prefix of photopost usually pp_

You will then have reviewpost integrated with phoyopost.

I beleive my post above shows reviewpost needs to use photopost user database hense the two things you need to do after installing reviewpost

If you need more specific guide let me know. It should just be a matter of moving the users and setting the integration.

Here is 4 queries you can do in phpmyadmin after installing Photopost that would do the whole thing

DROP TABLE pp_users
RENAME TABLE rp_users TO pp_users
UPDATE rp_settings SET setting='photopost' WHERE id=41
UPDATE rp_settings SET setting='pp_' WHERE id=83

sorry ...

Sorry I guess what I am asking is, once the above is done, if I add a new user to reviewpost as that is the primary purpose of the site, will the user be in the photopost user automatic? Or do I need to do something manual all the time?

Thanks
Duane

If you want to integrate the products together the user registration happens in Photopost and they are placed in the photopost user table hense the need to switch your Reviewpost to integrate with Photopost. Photopost can not integrate with Reviewpost.

then you would integrate your products with vbulletin not photopost and of course you would need to use some sort of script t migrate users to vb

each scenerio has its own set of issues and steps accordingly
