| Upload problem
New problem discovered: cannot upload images. Tried to add a 5th image to one of the products.
Clicked on edit product of the one I wanted. Taken to Review Page Review Editor (editproduct.php). I had four images in there so I clicked on browse for the fifth image position and selected the file from my hard drive. File name and path appeared in the box. Cicked on submit changes. Got the message that "your post or edit was successful". All should have been well.
But the photo I chose does not appear. It was not uploaded (not in the data subfolder with the other ones from this product) nor is it now listed in the product thumbnail list. It's like I never did anything.
Any suggestions?

See if your server has any error messages in the logs without an error message nearly impossible for me to suggest something on that. Try again I just added another image the 5th as well on an image and see no issues here.

Okay, no error message in the error log. If there were a php notice or fatal error it would be in there.
I played around a little more and discovered that the editing of a product's text can be successfully done. I tried creating a new product with images and the new product was created and the text was correct but no images.
So it seems that the edit is working on text changes but not on uploading images of any kind.

Okay then your server would have to be changed in some way two things to check.
Check your php info in admin and see if file uploads are ON and safe mode is OFF

File uploads is set to off and safe mode is set to on. Are you saying that I have to ask the ISP to change both of them for it to work?

exactly. with file uploads off you can not upload a file and safe mode locks things down.

Thanks for the direction, Chuck. ISP changed both settings and images now upload. But...
They are uploading as the usual filename (i.e. cont150.jpg) when all the others that are working are prefixed by either a 1 or a 2 (i.e. 2cont34.jpg). Don't think that's a biggie as the image works fine as the large image (the former *-large.jpg file). But it is not making a thumbnail of the image and putting it in the thumbs subdirectory.
Suggestions?

Newer Reviewpost does not use the archaic old format they now are in thumbs and large directories. So that behavior is correct. There was an upgrade script which reformats and move all the old files you should have ran.

Great. So the upgrade script apparently didn't work for us. We already knew that.
So what happens now? How do I get it to do the uploads the new way?
