| Cascading - new field types and new review fields
Sorry, in trying to provide context/background I guess I confused things.
Simply, I cannot add a Reviews Extra field, to any category, main or otherwise.
As for cascading the updates to children:
When I add a new field type (say, a drop-down) to my main, top-level category, it is cascading all the way down my tree and being applied to all sub-cats and sub-sub-cats.
I thought it would only cascade one level, but am pleased that it cascades all the way down. Makes my life much easier.
Now if I can just get it to add extra Reviews fields...

Actually, the other thread is closed (cascading deletes) and it is only this one (inability to create custom review fields) that is holding us up.
Thanks for your help.

| That worked, but...
That fixed adding extra review fields to a category -- and when i created a new one, it shows up on the reviews.php form for adding/updating a review - as expected.
It also shows up on existing reviews for a product.
However, it does not show up in the quick-review form at the bottom of showProduct. I looked in quickcom40.tmpl and don't see any code for handling extra fields. I tried copying what is in reviews.tmpl, but that didn't work. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
And there is the bit in showproduct.tmpl that DISPLAYS the extraReview fields in existing Reviews: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
but that doesn't do anything...
I'm stumped, but still looking.
Thanks for any tips...

The quick reply form is not coded to do extra review fields to my knowledge. Those are handled on the actual full review form.

Thanks. I put back the hair I pulled out looking for it ;-)
Any idea whether the Reviews.tmpl code could/should work?
