| Newest Reviews Listed First?
Hello,
I'm using ReviewPost on my web site CandleFind.com. Is there anyway for the most recent reviews to be listed first for a product? I hope so. I would really like to switch it around so that the oldest post for a product is last and the newest post for a product is seen first.
Please let me know if this is possible.
Thanks,
Carolyn

What version of the software you using?
In the latest you can define a default category sort so when viewing the showcat page products with the latest reviews would be shown first

Hi Chuck,
How do I find out what version I have? I don't think I have the latest version. What do I need to do to upgrade? If I upgrade, it wouldn't mess up the reviews that are already on the board, right?
Thanks,
Carolyn

You can look in the admin panel at statistics to see what version your using or it might be in the footer of your reviewpost if its a real old version.
You can upgrade whenever you like and it should not mess up anything just remember before any upgrade you backup your database just in case so you can restore.

Hi Chuck,
When I first log into the Admin panel, the page says "ReviewPost Pro 2.8c Released! Click here for details!" That's all i see on the statistics page as far as hinting to what version I have. Can you tell what version I have from that clue?
Thanks,
Carolyn

Oh...duh. I thought you meant a footer in the Admin or something.
How exactly do I upgrade? Do I just download the upgrade and then upload it to my board directory?
Thanks,
Carolyn

Upgrade instructions are included within the documentation folder of the download.
You basically take a backup of your database.
You then upload all files except the config files
You then run the applicable upgrade.php links from your version forward to upgrade the database.

Hi Chuck,
I know this is probably really simple, but I don't like doing this stuff because I feel like I'm gonna mess something up. I see that you have an Upgrade Installation Service for $49? If I did that, I wouldn't have to be concerned about anything. If I had you do that, would you make a backup and send it to me? I don't really understand how that works.
Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi Chuck,
So if I pay for this and some of the reviews are lost somehow, you would just be able to restore everything right away?
Thanks,
Carolyn

Thanks Chuck. One last question...I promise... :-)
When the upgrade is done, everything that I've customized with the board won't be changed right. For example, I have "Add Company" instead of "Add Product" and on the index board page, I have "Brands" under a column instead of Products. Will stuff like this stay the same with an upgrade?
Thanks,
Carolyn

If you have a customized language file you can note that on the upgrade and we can compare the new and old language file I can do that if that is the extent of any changes. But yes on an upgrade any modifications you have done will be gone usually and if you have done more than language changes they will be gone.

Oh, that changes my mind a little cause I remember changing more than just a few things. Do you always recommend people upgrade eventually? I guess I could just stick with this old version.
Thanks for your time.

Upgrading is up to you. I can tell you there are tons of security enhancements and new features with Reviewpost 3.3 versus 2.9 but thats your call.

Hi Chuck,
Sorry for the late reply...I've been sick. I realized something else. Do you remember how you set up that custom "Buy Link" for me for each company on my board? Would that be wiped out if I upgraded it?
Thanks,
Carolyn
