Editing menubar.tmpl to add new links?

How do I add my own links to the Nav bar? Chuck_S replied to one of my earlier threads and stated that you would need to edit the menubar.tmpl in order to add my own link to the Nav bar but since my HTML skills are very basic I dont have a clue where to start in the menubar.tmpl template. Any help would be greating apreciated.

You would edit menubar.tmpl and add html links. to the html in that file

This would require you have basic html coding skills if you want to add html links.
