Use 'comments RSS feed' to create a 'recent reviews' block

Using the RSS reviews / comments feed I'm assuming it should be pretty straightforwards to create a 'recent reviews' block on /reviewpost/index.php to appear below the 'recent uploads' block.

Is it going to be straightforward or is there anything I need to be aware of? I'm asking as I'm not a coder but sometimes able to amend other peoples code to add or delete bits here and there for things I don't want to appear on my site.

Thats an RSS FEED not a recent reviews block.

Your Index page already has a recent reviews block. Look at your index.php file for the code on that

I only ever remember this as a 'latest products' block not a 'recent reviews' block or 'recent comments' blocks as you guys normally refer to them?

As I'm not a coder but someone who can on occasion modify bits of code in ligt of (my assumption) of a recent reviews/comments block not being abale for use on /index.php or on a portal front page I saw the RSS feed of just the last five or ten 'product names' as the ideal solution.

Yes the recent reviews block is on the bottom left when you turn on the undercats template in sidebar options.

Looks at the reviewspal.tmpl and for the query in index.php

I'd like to include the product name as the first line at the start of the review - it's not clear to me where I should insert the 'product name' variable.

At the moment turning on the undercats template turns on both the 'recent reviews block an the 'random products' block. I would like to turn off the 'random products' block and have the recent reviews take up the entire width but break it in to two columns. Would this be possible? Any pointers / advice on how to acheive this would be most appreciated.

Not being familiar with the RP code and variable usage it's not as straightforward as I was hoping it would be - it looks like this will take me a few hours to try come up with something.

Maybe this in index.php

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
You can then place in the reviewspal template this variable where you want

$cache['comments']['title'][$numfound]
