Changing links

Which file do I edit in order to change the links at the very top (Home, Search, Member List, Register, Login).

I want to point the register link to somewhere other than ReviewPost's registration page, and I want to add a link for the RSS feeds.

Many thanks

You can edit menubar.tmpl to add a link for rss

As far as editing the registration link you will break the application if you do this. If your using reviewpost as a standalone you must go to our registration script.

You can edit reviewpost.php to alter the link but you do so at your own peril.

It's just that I want to redirect people who are registering to my main script. All three are using vBulletin's user database, but I want my users to create an account via my homepage section.

Can I just remove the register link without breaking ReviewPost? That would force my users to register via the homepage.

Could only find inc_reviewpost.php. Is this the file to edit to change the URL of the register link? I might give it a bash. Don't have any users yet so I can easily re-install.

Well why are you using internal registration if your trying to use reviewpost with vb3?

You would install reviewpost with vb3 registration if you want that.

I am a genius! A little bit of lateral thinking was required.

Q: How do I force my customers to register via my site's homepage (where I can deny free email accounts, block specific countries, etc), without altering the ReviewPost script and thus spending all evening re-installing it?

A: Just use the "redirects" facility in cPanel! Three cheers for cPanel - the world's greatest website admin control panel.

Okay good but you do know you just broke your reviewpost application cause your reviewpost is configured as an internal registration and now all new users are not being entered into the reviewpost users table.

Oh but they are...because the script that I have directed the registration process to is also...sharing the vBulletin user database. So we have a litle menage-a-trois

Hmmm...Think there has been a misunderstanding.

All three of my scripts share the vBulletin user database, but I wanted my users to be able to register through only one. And i think I've just cracked it.

Well your reviewpost looks like an internal install to me? You mean the registration link before went to vbulletin you should be fine.

How come your not using reviewpost integrated with vbulletin look.

Yeah everything is working just fine. I was able to use my vBulletin admin control access on my ReviewPost script, so they are certainly sharing the same data.

I'm not using vBulletin's header & footer because I'm having some seperate skins designed for the vBulletin and ReviewPost. The two apps will still look similar, but will have slightly different logos and layout. I wanted two independant apps rather than one. I [think] I know what I'm doing.

reviewpost.php

Where is reviewpost.php? Can only find inc_reviewpost.php.

I need to point the Register link to another script. Can't do it via cPanel now because can't redirect http:// to https:// (Other script is secure).

I just need to change the URL of the register link

well reviewpost.php is in the forums subdirectory but be careful you will break your script if your not having users register and throwing the contents in our users table.
