ReviewPost Questions We are testing out the latest version of ReviewPost and had a few quick questions: When adding the additional db fields, is there a way to make one of them hidden? We want to add a field that we'll use for a template mod but the field shows up by default in the product php pages. Is there a 'hidden' flag per field? Is there an option in search to search on the additional fields themselves? Additionally, the 'search all fields' selection doesn't appear to search the additional fields. On our site we edited uploadproduct and editproduct so that we could enter HTML in the description box (we'll be the only ones that enter products so not a security risk per se for us since reviews still escape the code). Is there a way that php code could be included in the product description box as well? A sample doesn't get interpreted but perhaps we aren't using the proper syntax. Thanks! |
One additional question. Is there a way to have more than one overall rating per product (for instance if we wanted separate ratings for reliability, quality, etc.)? |
Anyone? Thanks. |
Most everything your asking involves code modification. You can ask such questions over at http://www.photopostdev.com as we here support the normal code. I can tell ya database fields are never hidden but you can hide a variable in a forum using an input tag much like we pass other hidden variables. You can search many templates to see an input tag and how it looks hidden. Code can not be stored in the database and if you modify the files to allow html then all users will have this ability normally |
Thanks. Do you all do custom mods for pay? |
Yes we do and you can email me in the email in my signature |
omegatron: Thanks. I sent an email but got back a Spam Arrest. From what I recall that is the spam filter provider that ends up spamming folks with promotion messages about their service if the verify link is clicked on. Don't know if that is still the case but don't need any more spam myself. :-) I'll send a PM. |
You would click the verify link to authorize yourself on my email list |
omegatron: Thanks, yes I understand about clicking the link to add to your email list but that is the issue. From what I recall that is what adds one to their promotion list from whence the spam comes. :-) The article I read was awhile back but there was a big brouhaha about them using such a technique so I don't want to add to the list in case they still handle incoming verifications the same way and auto add me to other promotion lists. I get enough spam and don't want to add to it. :-) |
