Search Bug

Have just found a search layout bug.

if you do a search on our reviews site for say m1

it will find a list of 26 reviews, and start listing them, but instead of listing them straight down the page, it lists them down, and then forces each one below further right.

First thing I will do is make sure all your files are current when I look at your other issue.

Search - Reeftalk Reviews

If I do a search this is what I see on my site.

Yep your issue is not coming from Reviewpost. Our program is working fine. The issue is whatever html you are putting on your products is breaking your display so it is not proper html. It displays somewhat ok when viewing a product because that is all there is however it seems when trying to display on the search script it breaks things.

I stripped html on the product description like I do on showcat and things are fine.

so any suggestions? as now that is stripped the products are out of line?

so is it a case of one or the other working?

if so then i think we may have to look at something else to replace reviewpost, or get someone to do a hack for the code

well what I am saying is it is your html that breaks the display not our product. I can strip out your html so it doesnt break the display.

What can I do about an issue that is caused by what your entering in the form of html under product description on the products?

To do a test create a category and upload a couple sample products with none of your html. Then go a search for that category and you see things display correct.

so the code doesnt support html properly, so you can use tables or anything?

if that is the case can you leave it so the product description shows properly, for google and users to view, and then i will either have to get someone to do a hack for the code, or use another hack from vb.org

That is not what I said.

The problem is your html descriptions are huge what are we suppose to do about that. You can not display your html descriptions on the search page just like we do not display them on the showcat page

On the search page we have to limit what is shown from a description if you do not want the page to break.

That is a product display page not what we are talking about.

Lets take say this category this is a showcat page

Ireland - Truckdriver-online Reviews

You only get to the page you are showing after click the product link

Now lets do a search only on a cat

Search - Truckdriver-online Reviews

The search page is suppose to show more or less kinda like the showcat page.

I hope that clarifies the issue. The issue you had before was your html was breaking the display which is why we limit the amount of text and strip html from the showcat page. I simply stripped the html and the issue was fixed as I see it.
