With HTML in product fields set to ON in the reviewpost admin options, then of course I would expect all the html should work.

As I said earlier, I currently have HTML set to OFF in both product fields and reviews options, because of the potential security issues mentioned in the admin options description. When HTML is off, then only the underline in the code I gave you works on my forum. Weird, right? This is with editor off, so no tiny editor involved.

When I add that blockquote line, then all the html formatting works on mine, even with HTML off. While this gives me a workaround for adding bullet point lists, but now that I think about it, might also be a potential security issue. I just tested this again using editorff and htmlff in both admin options. I copied my html code with the blockquote line from my last post into a new, empty product upload and the formatting appeared correctly!

Anyway, I'm not asking for a fix to the tiny editors. I would like to use bullet point lists, though.
  • Do those work for you with bbcode like here, even if you have html and editor set to off in admin options?

If I can get that working somehow, then I don't need the tiny editors at all. I can simply have my moderators copy the bbcode enhanced review from the vbulletin editor into the product description field of a reviewpost upload. That's my only issue not related to the tiny editors, unless I've stumbled onto a security issue or a problem with my reviewpost installation of some sort.

No it is not weird that html would not render unless you turn on the switch to allow html.

Your bullet lists are no doubt a conflict somehow with vbulletin style I would think. Do a quick test. Turn off the enhanced vbulletin option in admin edit integration and view a post you did with a list does it display?

The weird part is that it DOES render the underline html, even with the html settings OFF. With the blockquote line, it renders all the html, even with the admin options for html set to off. That's why I asked if it could be a security issue.

I will try this. There are three options I see:
  • Do you want to enable the vB3 Integration which uses your vB3 headers, footers and styles?
  • Do you want to enable the vB3 Enahnced features which use vB3 controls in ReviewPost?
  • If using the Enhanced option above, do you want to enable the vB3 WYSIWYG control in Post Reviews?

I tried setting them OFF individually and then tried turning them all OFF. I click "Save Changes" then it gives me a message that my configuration was updated. When the ReviewPost Integration Administration settings come back, they all show as still being ON. Is there something else I need to change first?

Perhaps I have some greater issue with my installation lol.

You can always set your config-int.php file and set those three defines to off and then test as I stated. HTML is fine. I believe the only real issue here is maybe your vb style changes or interferes with your bullet lists and turning off the enhanced integration would prove this.

Thanks for the suggestion. Apologies that I don't seem to be conveying what I am seeing very well.

With all three off from inside the config file, the bbcode list does work, though the appearance is essentially unusable overall.

With just the Enhanced setting off but the other two ON, the colors are right at least, but the bbcode list doesn't work.

I'm using a default vB4.1.7 style. Combletely stock. No other plugins or addons. No template or phrase edits. I haven't so much as edited the colors or logo yet.

Sorry to ask again, but does the bbcode list work at your reeftalk forum with those three defines ON? Your earlier example had the other bbcode but not the list.

The second question would be if you can replicate what I did with the blockquote html test in a new review post upload. If you can, even with html set to off as I have it, then it seems like a security issue that could be exploited by anyone who has review upload access. If not, then maybe it is an issue with my installation?

I hear what you say you can turn everything on. The only real issue is a bullet list and why is the vb4 style preventing it from working it is a css issue. Maybe vb has other ul and li parameters that prevent things from working

if you do a list in a vb post what does the page source look like for that source? I will do my own testing but no quick answer for sure.

Thanks-

I am not sure why a bbcode LIST does not work, while most other bbcode formatting does work. It works fine in a regular vBulletin post at my forum, just as it did here in my earlier posts.

This is what vBulletin gives for bbcode when you use the list option in the editor, if that is what you mean.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
I suppose we can get by now with just asterisks or something, or use the workaround I found with the blockquote and the tiny editor, but I now want to make sure that my reviewpost install is OK and that I haven't introduced a security problem with html somehow.

Yep thats the issue you can not use html ul li codes because it conflicts with the vb style which uses li statements in its output there tables are ol and li statements.

See the real issue is your list displays fine using html but because the vb style for li does not specify an image like a star to use for the li there is no image in front of your option that's the minor difference. vb then of course uses bbcode.

Your install should be fine as your issue as I see it is one you turned off rendering of html and two your list statement thing is as I posted above. Using a non vb install list using html works fine because there is not a pre defined li css class like vb uses.
