Search not working

RP5 w/ vb4

When I do a simple search from the main Reviews page it takes me to the Advanced search page. Then when I try the search from there I get some MySql errors.

After digging around in here, I turned on debug messages. Now when I do the simple search I get:

Query: DELETE FROM rp_searchids WHERE date < 1285430335

Result: Table 'msrrpdb.rp_searchids' doesn't exist

Database handle: Resource id #25

I've never run any sql scripts or opened my rp db w/ any kind of tool or utility, so I guess it never got created? or do i have to do something in the admin panel to enable search?

TIA
-tod

If you upgraded did you run your upgrade script?

It appears you have not done so.

I'm confused

I didn't know there was an upgrade, although I just went and looked and saw the 5.1 release, but I am pretty sure I didn't download (or upload for that matter). I don't see it anywhere on my computer.

Is that something that has to be run after a basic install of the latest version? I followed the normal installation instructions for the 5.0 version I downloaded - don't remember if that included running an upgrade at the end (guess I'll go look).

How do I have new code looking for things that the upgrade would do to the db?

After an upgrade I assume I have to re-apply any mods i've made ? Is there somewhere that documents best practices for making tweaks and then re-applying as needed after an upgrade?

For sure, I'll make a copy of the existing files, but other than tracking a list of files and what was changed, any suggestions?

Thanks

Your running reviewpost 5.1 not 5.0

The announcement on 5.1 is in our announcements forum with a list of changed files and there is an upgrade to run if you recently upgraded your files.

That seemed to do the trick.

Dunno how I missed having to run the upgrade.php -- I had not seen that.

After running, I don't get that error, but I still also don't get any results from the simple "Search Reviews" at the top of the reviews list on the main page. It just goes to the advanced search page. Then the query works.

I'm just searching on "propen"...

At least I got 1 step forward and not 2 forward and 1 back

Not working at all now -- simple search from home page goes to the advanced search page. but searching from there doesn't find anything either.
