V 5.0 Translation problem

I am having a strange translation problem.

First I started by translating a category to "Plöntur"

See screen 2 all is filed in correctly I think
The category name is missing in adm-index/category edit but shows up fine on site.

Then I created a new lang
See screen 1 all is filed in correctly I think
icelandic - is - UTF-8 - ltr

Changed the config to icelandic

Then I translated the word Forum to the Icelandic word Forsíđa
See screen 3

And the word is not seen on the site and I can not find it or the word Forum with a lang search.

What can this be??

PHP Version 5.2.9-1
MySQL server version 5.1.32

HMM maybe try commenting out this line in adm-cats.php see if your category name appears.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
I tested reviewpost much like classifieds with common languages like russian arabic etc

Also try commenting out the htmlentities line in the subli function of adm-inc.php

Interesting part here I did a little test on my site works perfectly displays front end back end every which way

Main Index - PhotoPost Classifieds

Are your actual classifieds mysql tables UTF-8 like they are suppose to be to support multiple languages?

Everything is with collation, utf8_general_ci
see screen 4

This is my test site.
Main Index - My Product Gallery

Commenting out the htmlentities in admin-inc did the job.
See screen 5

As you can see the phrase Forum is still missing and I can´t find it..

well you might need to revert the string back to english

The strange part here is my tables are all utf-8 and I can clearly see everything and all appears to work fine. So I am a little stumped as to why yours does not work unless there is something different about your server setup I dont know.

Now there are various lines in adm-lang.php that use htmlentities you can search for and comment out and see if that helps you.

What about the problem I have with words disapearing from the "Search Language Strings" Like if Forum is translated to Forsíða it can not be found again. Not as Forsíða or as Forum?? If I translate forum to Forsida (with a d) I don't have a problem.

This is the servers php info.

I believe I commented on that above. Have you tried commenting out lines in adm-lang.php and tried translating a string.

I stated you might need to search for the phrase varname forum in the database and change that string back to english then we can try again after you make those changes.

Your issue is centered around htmlentities.
