large empty space above tables

Chuck, still ahving this issue and I figured it need it's own thread.

We can't figure out why any table we insert in a review, has a large space above it, just about equal to the size of the table itself for the most part. Will you look at the one review on this test page and see what it looks like so you can see what I mean.

We want the gaps in between the rowse of this table but this is the only code pasted in that review:

Yes as I noted in my reply to this issue try doing your html without line breaks because if you do line breaks we will replace line breaks with break tags

I would need to see the site to comment more on the issue

As you can see, there are no line breaks above that table, yet viewing it, puts an empty space the height of that table above it. From your reply to something else I was trying to do, recommending commenting this out of showproduct.php resolved it:

This is what I commented out for other interested:
Code:

There are line breaks in your html and for the life of me I have explained this several times in that other thread and you do not seem to understand what I mean.

Your code was nice and pretty and formatted meaning it has line breaks. To type to your next line and do the tr line and then the td line you had to hit enter which is a line break in a typewriter or wordprocessor. Once you hit enter that is a line break and as such is translated into a break tag in our program.

Check, I think we're having a communication issue here. I understand what you're saying about line breaks in the table code itself. It's clear. I understood that the first time you gave me the example as follows:
<tr><td></td></tr> (has no line breaks)

Whereas this HAS line breaks:
<tr>
<td>
</td>
</tr>

Yes I get that. What you're not understanding is that I'm saying outside of the table, above the table code there was a HUGE space inserted above the table, just about equal to the size of the table. I gave you a link to look at it on a sample review I created. Uncommenting the code you told me to uncomment in the other thread (trying to get the swf video to work) resolved this problem. However, it was still a problem and if I commented that code back out, it would re-appear.

That however may be how your break tags are making that html display. It would help if you had an actual url to look at. The code you got rid of was simply the code we use to convert the returns and things work fine. See if your html did not have the line breaks I am 100 percent sure you would not have the issue.
