Just in the past couple days I am getting several emails from my visitors that when they try to reset their passwords, they are getting this super long string of numbers and letters like this and aren't able to login....

I show this part in emails.php in your languages/english directory is correct as $newpass is the unencrypted version is this what your file looks like? you sure you did not upload old files?

Code:

Yep, my file looks exactly like that with $newpass. It's from my upgraded version and I just uploaded it again. What do you think the problem is then?

I am not seeing an issue here. This is in register.php that I am showing which sends the email and calls the right password $newpass

Code:

Chuck,

I'm not seeing that code in my register.php file. I just downloaded my upgrade again and checked and that code is not in my file. Do you want me to send it to you in an attachment? I just went through it 3 times and looked for that code above you pasted and it's not there.
