top level categories

Clicking on the top level categories that are set up to not contain products but act as a heading, I get a "You do not have permission to view this category" message.

All usergroups are set up to have access to this category.

A bug?

I dont think its a bug but how you have permissions set. you can view my reviewpost install running 3.0 here and I have plenty of top level cats

http://www.reeftalk.com/reviews/index.php

If you continue to have any issues you can email me with a url and admin login to check things out cause I surely dont see this issue looking at the program. If I click a top level category I get index.php?cat=CATID

For each top level category, "These checked usergroups can view Products in this category." permissions are checked for all usergroups.

I just tried changing "Contains Products?" from "no" to "yes" and that fixed it so users can drill down into the subcategories again, but I don't have products nor want products in the heading category just as you apparently don't have products in your "Online Retailer's" and other top level categories.

I'm OK with with this now (unless this gives access for members to upload products directly to my top level categories), but this works differently than versions prior to RP 3.0.

You can not set a category to contains thumbs and expect it to not be uploaded to

In Reviewpost if a category is set to no thumbs it is not even shown on the upload list so you need to set it as you had but check permissions and then since I can not replicate this on several installs I would suggest making sure you upload all the new files. Behavior like this is usually created by having a mix of files on the system. FTP programs are real good sometimes at not overrighting old files.

What do you mean by "contains thumbs"? There is no such setting in the category editor.

Of course there is. second row in cat editor to left right under the catname

Except I beleive in Reviewpost we call it CONTAINS PRODUCTS now

I got rid of alot of language strings that said image thumb etc etc in this upgrade and reworded things abit to better suit the nature of the product.
