Problem With Product Model Name

I'm running 2.91 (just installed today) with vb3 3.0.7 and vpb 3.0.2 running on Linux.

When I add a new product for review it does not save the info I put in the product model name field. If I go in and edit the info and save it still does not save the info put in this field.

I would need a bit more info here.

Url to install?

Test login and does this happen with vb3 integration off?

I run 2.91 and vb3.07 and Vbportal 302 and I can post a manufacturers name no problem

The variable is named $manuf and I show it to be coded correctly and inserted into the database correctly

The only time I see issues with variables not being written is when using VB3 one has a hack installed that has a same name or interferes with our program operation. Hense why I asked if it works with vb3 integration off.

The site is at Installed At I will pm you the user id to use.

I have not applied any hacks. All code across all installed software (vb3, vbportal, photopost, classified and review) is bone stock. All of the different packages are in seperate directories.

If I turn off vb3 integration and enhanced integration, the product description is saved and displayed like it should be.

Then it is as stated some vb3 code interference. Maybe a special style your running. No hacks you say interesting as its always a hack when something like this happens.

Okay I got your info and tried it out. There has to be some code interfering

Okay it is the actual $title field thats affected. If I turn your sidebar off in reviewpost it works so that narrows it down.

You will need to try and think of any custom pals you installed etc. I run VbPortal and dont have any issues so my suggestion

Look or turn off on the sidebar the ESPN NASCAR OR NHRA pals all and then one by one and see where the issue lies. I run the other pals on mine so I would say its in one of those link boxes

Nope, no hacks. I usually run stock code because hacks give me problems.

I'm just using the default vbportal style that is installed with vbp. It's interesting to note that I also have this exact problem with the photopost classified package.

So what's the next step in getting this to work with vb3?

You will need to do as I stated and find out which VBportal pal is interfering with our code. As stated our $title field is being nullified so I gave you a couple options to try above.

Well, using your suggestions I tracked it down to the RSS blocks in vbPortal. The RSS blocks can be used on the portal page but not on the forum page. Any idea how hard it will be to get them to change the RSS block code?

You can probally alter those blocks manually and change the variable title to something else. They would be able to assist over at phpportals.com. Basically the block is using the same variable name $title as we do.
