Hey there,
I have this problem I can't seem to find searching here and I have pulled my hair out trying to figure out a solution on my own.
On the main index page the "view last review posted" isn't showing the last review posted. It is showing some stuff but it is from weeks ago. If I go into a category it shows correctly though.
I'm at my wits end as to what it can be, any help would be appreciated.

odd well it updated but you can still see that between these two views its still not updating the main index at all. So technically it is still not working how it should be.
You can clearly see there are new reviews here... http://www.b15sentra.net/reviews/index.php?cat=1
Stuff from the 12th, and 13th
but on the main page http://www.b15sentra.net/reviews/
Still only dec 10.
Is there some other means of support because 5 days seems absurd to wait for a response.

Ok after some more digging I found a way to make it manually update.
By going to the scan database menu and running the Check here to recalculate product/post numbers and check children.
It updated the main page. So I guess my question is, this must be some sort of scheduled task. If so where do I find it?

No, it doesn't need to be scheduled; but we can look into how the updates are being done.

Yeah it would seem like its not happening on a regular basis. I noticed earlier this morning just before I pushed that manual update I found that some of the reviews from the 11th had showed up. Its almost like its 5 days behind.

Time has no relevence to the format since there is nothing which says "after this amount of time do something"; its simply a matter of when the command to update the "tree" is executed (usually when a review is posted, but maybe on a partial update versus a full update).

Yeah I think so far when I look at it you have pushed the manual update.
If anything I think we could look at as it seems to me the issue is the subcat review posted updating the parent cat lastreview time on the main index is the issue

Yeah I haven't had any new reviews since this morning. New products list fine. Its just the reviews. I tested it after I had done the manual push to see if it had maybe pushed out some stale variable but it still didn't update on the main index.
The only template changes I have made is where the optional product fields are displayed. I just changed the order. Otherwise I have made any other changes to how reviewpost ships.

I have this problem, too. Last review listed with date Nov 10 even though we've had reviews almost daily since. I used the manual update pointed out by David, but it doesn't make sense that this would not auto-update with every review.
Is there a way to run a cron job to do this every day, so I don't have to?

Is there a way to force the update of this feature? Doing it manually (as above) no longer does anything at all. It's still showing the "recent" reviews from December.

I believe this can be resolved by changing line 289 in reviews.php to: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

No, I'm sorry, but that didn't resolve the problem. I'm still showing reviews from december as "latest".

Still not working I updated the code, used the option in the adminpanel to scan database... Check here to recalculate product/post numbers and check children. But nothing happened. I ran it several times just now.

That change effects only newly posted reviews and has nothing to do with scan database.

This is strange (to me)... I was looking around in my admin area, and we have " Display unapproved reviews?" set to Yes, always have. Reviews appear, no problem. However, under "Moderate Reviews" all of the reviews were listed anyway, and when I approved them, THEN they appeared in the "latest reviews" section on our reviews home page. Is this the way it was supposed to work, or is there a problem?

It is the way it is suppose to be. The reviews in the latest review would be approved reviews

I understand it might be a little confusing; the idea is that you can still display unapproved reviews if you want, but the Admin still has the ability to "review" the reviews to ensure that they are okay. Once they are "official", then they are counted.
