ReviewPost 5.0 Beta1- Support for vB4

Disclaimer/Word of Caution: As with any upgrade, particularly a BETA one, please backup your systems before performing the upgrade. Novice users should be extreme caution, as if you encounter problems we will need to ask you questions about your setup to try and resolve any issues (and may ask you to modify code or your setup). If you are unsure about doing these things, you should not install or use this BETA update. Support for the BETA product will expire with each new update and not be supported at all past the BETA cycle.

=======================
VERSION UPDATE: 5.00 BETA 1
=======================
ReviewPost 5.0 is a start of a major update with features users have requested. obviously with vb 4.0 just around the corner we are going to have multiple product betas open so the beta cycle is going to be longer than normal. Features etc will be added as time permits.

New features:

. vB4 support

Planned Additions to come in the future:

. SEO URLs (requires .htaccess file)
. Single URLs for images
. 301 redirects to SEO pages for spider and normal URLs
. SEO URLs enabled in Admin -> Edit Settings -> Global Options (choices are none, spider, seo)

Upgraded files

/*.php (except config-inc.php.NEW, config-intr.php.NEW, inc_reviews.php, inc_reviewpost.php)

forums/vb3.php (you only need this file if you are using the vb registration system)

templates/vb4enhanced/* (new directory)

There is no upgrade.php script requirement at this time, you only need to upload the files and templates.

Hello Chuck,

I would like a link in the navigation, I have put down this in navbar. However, it is absent something...

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

Hi Chuck, this looks great, as does the classifieds.
Not that I am a fan of moving from table layout to all css, but will you be doing the same for your products?
It looks like this version is using tables.
It seems that some borders are slightly misaligned, and Descriptions seem like they are surrounded by images that are slightly different colors.

The reason I ask, is I've been using a custom theme for a long time, and I want to move away from that and use the stock theme to ease my upgrade pain. It would be nice if your products used the default theme settings too.

Thanks, Cliff

Well right now things look fine with the new vb design. I cant say what custom themes will add into the mix.

I have viewed my site in the 5 main browsers Firefox IE Opera Safari and Chrome all appears fine to me so not sure what you mean.

It really is a mix of div layouts and our tables. Less tables then it use to be but still tables non the same. It is wrapped with the vb4 div layouts for design.

Sorry if I offended you Check, that wasn't my intent.

Here are a couple examples.
The right side of this table seems to extend slightly past the headers. Also, the cell seems to have no margins on the side and the text is too close to the edge.

The header seems to have an image inside of the cell that shows slightly.

Again, I hope it doesn't sound like complaining, I like what you've done.

No offense taken at all. I was merely stating you need to post examples so I know what your talking about. My work has been making things work and of course XHTML compliance. This obviously is a beta but I am working on an updated set of templates

To give you an example like here is classifieds. I have been redoing things a little now there is a completely tableless cats display but you notice all the other blocks are aligned left now and the little 1 pixel things where off on the right side of boxes are gone

Yeah well gonna be a little while at least another day or so I think till I get reviewpost beta updated. I am doing 3 product betas at one time here and as far as priority they go in order of sales and customer base. Pro being the first Classifieds and unfortunately Reviewpost last.

Now just wait true SEO urls coming soon for ReviewPost. You can see them in my Classifieds example
